Designed for non-native English speakers this course takes a unique strategic approach to effectively improve English pronunciation and aims to drastically reduce accent in a short amount of time.
Course Description
Is English your second language or possibly even your third language? Have you ever avoided a public speaking opportunity because of your accent? Is communication with native English speakers at work or in social situations a bit intimidating?
The way your speech sounds can have a big impact on whether or not people understand what you are saying and their initial impression of you. Research show non-native speakers with a heavy accent are harder to understand and unfortunately this causes the speaker to be perceived as less credible.
An accent is actually made up of so many different parts such as dialects, word stress, sentence intonation, rhythm, the expressions and so much more.
This course helps non-native English speakers by improving their pronunciation, rhythm, stress and intonation through various exercises and in-class activities. In-class activities will include repetition drills, short stories, speeches, conversation drills and role plays. Students will also learn often used English idioms and slang to help them improve their communication in English and sound natural in conversations.
Take this course and see yourself improve your pronunciation, feel confident and sound like a native English speaker
